Two coach education / development evenings have been scheduled for November. These are aimed at Specific coaching levels and aim to prepare the coach for undertaking the next step in their development.
Session 1:
Current Level 1 coaches
Monday November 16th
Venue: Denbigh RFC
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Content: Session Planning, practical presentation of sessions, session development.
Session 2:
Current Level 2 coaches
Monday November 30th
Venue: tbc (if your club would like to host the event please get in touch)
Time 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Content: tbc

UKCC Level 2FYI
To remind you that there is a UKCC Level Two coaching course starting on 12th December at Coleg Llandrillo, Colwyn Bay.
Dates are 12th, 13th December and 16th, 17th January. Cost is £200. Minimum age 18 and need to have done UKCC Level One.
We are still getting fairly good numbers for Level One courses but I definitely think we are not getting enough people forward to Level Two. Coaches who are involved in a lead capacity within an age group or those moving up with the ages should be looking to undertake this.
If people are not confident or uncertain of level two but who would like to do it, they could book on and then look to attend a Level One CPD we are running. This would give them an idea and introduction to Level Two. The two dates we have before the Level Two are 9th November for South Province and 16th November for East Province 7pm to 9pm. Confirming venues with Dai Higgs and Julian Ferrari.

Just a quick mail to inform you of a venue change for the Level 1 UKCC Coaching Course originally advertised at Shotton RFC on the 14th, 15th and 22nd November. Unfortunately the facilities at Shotton are no longer available and as a result the venue has now been changed to
Elfed High School, Mill Lane, Buckley CH7 3HQ
(Please enter the school via the leisure centre entrance)
There is no change to the course dates.
I hope this does not create any problems and apologise for the venue change at such late notice, however I look forward to meeting you all there.
Furthermore there is to be a coach education evening on Monday 16th November at Denbigh RFC aimed specifically at Level 1 coaches, this is not directly connected to the course in any way but would be good for your development if you attended (but not compulsory).

Following the success of the three provincial coach education evenings and based on the topics put forward by the coaches in attendance, I can now confirm several more dated for the diary.
2nd November, 2009 - Level 1 coaches only - content: planning sessions, game sense approach to coaching.
30th November, 2009 - Level 2 coaches only - content: tbc
18th January, 2010 - open to all coaches - Scrum and Lineout.
15th March, 2010 - open to all coaches - Backline from Set Piece.
17th May, 2010 - open to all coaches - Handling and Decision Making.
19th July, 2010 - open to all coaches - Conditioning / Fitness.
No venues have yet been decided / confirmed. If your club would like to host one or several of the evenings please let me know. They will run from 7.00pm - 8.30pm, all are a Monday. Venue confirmation will be forwarded once agreed. August 18 Coach Education EveningA big thank you to Wrexham RFC and their youth & Under 16 teams who helped assist in what was regarded by those who attended as a valuable evening of coach development within the province. The evening looked at team management and gameplay structure and has hopefully stimulated further discussion amongst the coaches attending.
These coach education evenings will continue at various venues witin the province, the topics will be chosen by you, so please let me know if there are any topics you would like to look.
I will let you know when the next date has been planned.

August 12 UKCC Level 1 - Additional DateHi everyone,
Have just had confirmation regarding an additional level 1 coaching course we've managed to arrange for the North East (although it is open to anyone).
Details are as follows:
Shotton Steel RFC - November 14th, 15th, 22nd
There is also a level 2 scheduled to start in December (Coleg Llandrillo, December 12th, 13th & January 16th, 17th).
As always enrolement onto either of these courses is done via the WRU web site, follow this link....
August 11 Coach Education EveningFYI
As a reminder, there is a Coach Development evening on Monday 17th August from 7pm to 9pm at Wrexham RFC.
This is a follow on from the sessions previously done but it should be relevant to all coaches and there is no requirement to have attended either or both of the previous sessions.
The topic is Game Structure in the Modern Game.
There will be an outdoor practical so please bring appropriate clothing depending on weather. Hopefully there will be no participation for you, just observation.
If you could advise on attendance to allow a rough number for the evening, that would be appreciated.

There is to be a further Coach Development Evening for the North East provincial area. This will be a follow up to the ones held in February and June. This session is, however, being aimed at all coaches. The session will be run through myself, Marc Roberts the Regional Performance Manager and Julian Ferrari the North East Development Officer and the topic will be Game Structure in the Modern Game.
The evening is being held on Monday 17th August at Wrexham RFC from 7pm until 9pm.
Could you please pass on to all coaches and they can register by feeding back to myself.

Just to remind everyone that there is a coach education evening on Monday 1st June at Mold RFC at 7:00pm, we will be there from 6:30pm onwards, looking to finish for 9:00pm.
The session is addressing the CONTACT AREA so hope to see you all there. May 15 Coach Education Evening The second of round of our coach education evenings for the East province will be held at Mold RFC on Monday 1st June2009 between 7pm and 9pm. This is a follow up to the session held on February 23rd and the topic is 'THE CONTACT AREA'. This will again be aimed at workingthrough the age groups. Refreshments will be available and there will be players to do the demonstrations. Indoor presentation and outdorr demonstration will be involved so you will need to bring suitable outdoor attire.
